Why the Boss Got Mad!

When we think of Jesus, we usually think he is always smiling and peaceful (和平的). But in this story, Jesus gets angry (生氣)! Why? Because his friends (the disciples) tried to stop some "unimportant" (不重要的) people from meeting him.

In college, we always want to be "important" and "smart." But Jesus has a very different idea about what makes a person great (偉大). Let's find out!

A Fairy Tale or a Revolution?

😈
BadDer (小缺德)
Ugh... Are you kidding me? College students (大學生) are busy every day. We have reports, exams, and part-time jobs (打工). The pressure (壓力) is already big enough! Who has time to listen to a Sunday school fairy tale Can listening to this help me get an A on my final exam (期末考)? Religion is just for weak people.
👼
DerDer (小德德)
Hey BadDer! Don't be so negative (負面的)! This is not a fairy tale. It is actually a very cool revolution (革命) about changing the social class (顛覆社會階級)! And the English in this scripture (經文) is very simple. It is perfect for us to practice (練習)! Let's read together!

The Angry Jesus 😠 (生氣的耶穌)

"People brought children to Jesus. They wanted him to touch them. But the disciples scolded (責備) the people.

When Jesus saw this, he was angry (憤怒). He said to them, 'Let the children come to me! Do not stop them. The Kingdom of God belongs to people who are like these children. I tell you the truth: anyone who does not receive (接受) the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.'

Then Jesus took the children in his arms. He placed his hands on their heads and blessed (祝福) them."

👼
DerDer (小德德)
Did you see that? Jesus was very angry (憤怒)! He even scolded (責備) his disciples (門徒) in public. The usually gentle (溫柔的) Jesus... why did he get so angry?
😈
BadDer (小缺德)
Jesus' friends were just doing their job If I am studying in the library (圖書館) and some kids are screaming (尖叫) next to me, I would be angry too! The disciples were just being bodyguards (保鑣)!

The First Century Kids 🌍 (第一世紀的孩子們)

📜
Historical Background (歷史補充知識)

In the first century 第一世紀, children had no status (沒有地位). They were not important. They were seen as property (財產) and were always at the bottom of society (社會底層).

👼
DerDer (小德德)
BadDer, you are right about the historical background But the disciples' behavior (行為) was wrong! Jesus was a Rabbi At that time, Rabbis usually only discussed serious theology (嚴肅的神學) with adult men (成年男性).

But Jesus broke the rules He personally hugged the people at the absolute bottom (最底層) of society! That is why this scripture was so shocking (震撼) back then!
🐻
Original Text Trivia (原文冷知識)

Embrace (抱起他們): In the Greek original text (希臘原文), the word for "taking them in his arms" (抱起) shows a very deep, emotional love. Jesus didn't just give them a high-five; he gave them a big, warm bear hug!

Like a Child?

"To become a child in relation to God is the condition (條件)
for entering the kingdom."

—— Catechism of the Catholic Church, CCC 526 (天主教教理:成為天主的兒童是進入天國的條件)
😈
BadDer (小缺德)
(Sneering 冷笑😏) Oh, I get it now (我懂了). The Church (教會) just wants us to be like ignorant (無知的) children. Don't think, don't doubt (不要懷疑), just quietly put money in the donation box (奉獻箱), right? "Don't think, just believe!" What a perfect brainwashing (洗腦) plan!
👼
DerDer (小德德)
BadDer! You went too far! Stop right there! 😡

Dear readers (親愛的讀者們), please don't listen to his nonsense (胡說八道). Jesus definitely (絕對) does not want us to become "childish" (幼稚) or "ignorant" (無知). The Catholic Church strongly encourages rational thinking (理性思考) and science!

When Jesus said "like a child", he meant having a Childlike (單純信賴) heart. When you fail your Calculus (微積分) class in college, or feel lost (迷惘) about the future, you don't need to pretend (假裝) to be strong in front of God. You can admit (承認): "I am helpless (我很無助), I need You." This is true courage

Action Plan 🚀 (行動計畫)

😈
BadDer (小缺德)
(Feeling a bit guilty 心虛, muttering softly 小聲嘟囔) Fine... I guess the hug part is kinda sweet But how is this useful (有用) for us college students who are losing hair from anxiety (焦慮到掉頭髮) every day?
01

🙏 Pray simply (簡單地祈禱)

You don't need big, fancy (華麗的) English words to pray. Just say, "God, I am tired today. Help me." Praying in A2 English or your most comfortable language is perfectly fine! God understands!

02

👀 Look at the "unimportant" people (關注不被重視的人)

Is there an international student (國際學生) in your class who has no friends? Go say hi! Treat them like Jesus treated the children.

👼 DerDer's Final Words (小德德最後想說)——

College life is full of competition We always compare GPA, Instagram followers, and job offers. We think we only have value (價值) if we are "successful" (成功的).

But Jesus says: "You are loved just because you are you."

You don't need an impressive resume (亮眼的履歷) to be hugged by God! No matter how many setbacks (挫折) you face this week, remember that in God's eyes, you are his most precious treasure (最珍貴的寶貝)! See you next time!

😈
BadDer (小缺德)
Whatever (隨便啦). Remember to do your homework, guys Also, when you pray, please pray for me too (順便幫我祈禱一下)... I am just joking! Bye. (Runs away at the speed of light 光速逃走🏃‍♂️💨)
