🇺🇸🇻🇪 Justice, Oil, and God: What is the Right Thing?

Big news! The US army went to Venezuela and took President Maduro away.
Is this a good thing? Is it a bad thing?
Today, let's look at this news with our Catholic Faith.
1️⃣ Is this "Justice" or just a Movie?
😇 DerDer:
The US says: "We want to help the people. This is Justice."
They say Maduro was a bad leader, so they removed him.
😈 BadDer:
Justice? Ha! Don't be silly.
This is about Oil and Money.
Venezuela wanted to sell oil for Chinese money, not US dollars.
So, the US army went there to fix the "money problem," not the "human problem."
2️⃣ What does the Church Rulebook (CCC) say?
😇 DerDer:
BadDer is very cynical. But the Church has rules about war.
We look at the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC).
The CCC has a rule (Number 2243). It says:
Fighting is the very last choice.
We must try talking first.
We cannot make things worse than before.
If the US action causes a bigger war or kills more people, the CCC says it is Wrong.
3️⃣ What about Catholic Social Teaching?
😇 DerDer:
Also, we have Catholic Social Teaching.
It teaches us that Peace is not just "No War".
You cannot just remove a bad president and leave. That is not peace.
True Peace needs Justice.
This means people need food, jobs, and freedom.
If the US takes the oil but leaves the people hungry, that is not Catholic Justice.
😈 BadDer:
So, if they don't fix the economy, it's just a robbery?
Exactly what I said.
4️⃣ But... didn't God like War in the Old Testament?
😈 BadDer:
Wait a minute, DerDer.
I read the Old Testament (the first part of the Bible).
God told the Israelites to fight wars. He told them to destroy bad cities.
Wasn't that "Divine Justice"? Maybe the US is doing the same thing?
😇 DerDer:
That is a very hard question!
In the Old Testament, people saw Justice differently.
They believed God used war to judge evil and punish bad sins.
They thought: "God is the Judge, and He orders us to clean the land."
BUT... Humans are not God.
It is dangerous for a country (like the US) to say, "We are God's hand."
Humans often use "Justice" as an excuse to take land or oil.
That is why Jesus came. He showed us that real Justice is about Love and Mercy, not just destroying enemies.
5️⃣ Conclusion
😇 DerDer:
We must be careful.
We cannot just say "War is good" because it is in the Old Bible.
We must follow Jesus.
Let us pray for True Justice in Venezuela—not just for oil companies, but for the poor people.
