📖 Today's Story (Matthew 1:18-24)
Mary was promised to Joseph. But before they lived together, Mary was pregnant (had a baby inside) by the Holy Spirit.
Joseph was a righteous man (a good guy). He did not want to shame Mary. So, he planned to leave her secretly.
But an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. The angel said: "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid. Take Mary as your wife. The baby is from the Holy Spirit. She will have a son. You must name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
All this happened to fulfill what the Lord said: "The virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel," which means "God is with us."
Joseph woke up. He did what the angel commanded. He took Mary as his wife.

"Wow! St. Joseph is so cool! 😎 Think about it. He was confused and sad. But he did not get angry. He wanted to protect Mary. When God spoke to him in a dream, he listened. He was brave. He did not say: 'Let me think about it.' He just woke up and said 'YES'! He trusted God 100%. Because of Joseph, baby Jesus had a safe home and a dad. Young people, sometimes life is scary. But like Joseph, we can trust God. God is with us (Emmanuel)!"

(Rolling his eyes) 🙄 "Wait, wait, wait. Are you serious? Joseph is crazy. He had a dream. Just a dream! I have crazy dreams too (like eating pizza with a dinosaur), but I don't change my life because of them! His girlfriend is pregnant, and it's not his baby. Normal guys would run away! 🏃♂️💨 But Joseph? He stays? That is too much trouble. Taking care of a baby is hard work. No sleep, changing diapers... no thanks! Joseph is too nice. Being a 'good guy' looks very tiring."

"Hey! Stop it, BadDer! 😤 It was not 'just a dream'. It was a message from God! Joseph knew what true love is. Love is action. Love is responsibility! He is a real man because he protects his family!"

"Yes! St. Joseph is the perfect saint for sleep! 🌟 But it is not because he was lazy. It is because he had super trust in God.
In the Bible, God spoke to Joseph four times while he was sleeping (in dreams).
Dream 1: 'Take Mary as your wife.'
Dream 2: 'Run to Egypt to save the baby.'
Dream 3: 'It is safe to go back home.'
Dream 4: 'Go to Nazareth.'
Joseph could sleep peacefully even when life was scary. Why? Because he knew God was in control. Pope Francis says: 'Even when he is asleep, Joseph takes care of the Church.' So, if you are worried and cannot sleep, ask St. Joseph for help. Put your problems under his pillow, and let God handle it!"

(Rubbing his eyes, wearing pajamas) 🥱 "Finally! A saint I really like! Forget the martyrs who died painful deaths. Forget the saints who fasted and didn't eat. St. Joseph is my hero because his 'holy work' was napping. Think about it. He solved his biggest problems by going to bed.
Problem: 'My girlfriend is pregnant.' -> Goes to sleep. -> Solved!
Problem: 'King Herod wants to kill us.' -> Goes to sleep. -> Solved!
This is my kind of religion. I want to be a saint like Joseph. Teacher: 'Did you do your homework?' Me: 'Shh... I am being holy. I am sleeping like Joseph.' If sleeping makes you holy, then I am the holiest person in the world! 🛌💤"

"No, BadDer! You are missing the point! 😅 Joseph didn't sleep to be lazy. He slept to listen. And when he woke up, he immediately did the work. You just sleep to avoid work. That is different!"
