Let's look at the First Reading for today (December 21, 2025).
It is from the Book of Isaiah (7:10-14).
This is a very famous story about a King who was afraid, and a God who wanted to help him.
📜 The Story: The Sign of Emmanuel (Isaiah 7:10-14)
Long ago, there was a king named Ahaz. He was the King of Judah.
He was very scared because enemies wanted to attack his city.
God spoke to Ahaz through the prophet Isaiah.
God said: "Ask for a sign from me. Ask for anything! It can be as deep as the ocean or as high as the sky."
But King Ahaz said: "No, I will not ask. I do not want to test God." (He sounded polite, but actually, he did not want to trust God. He wanted to do things his own way.)
So, Isaiah got a little angry. He said:
"Listen, House of David! Is it not enough to annoy people? Must you annoy God too?
Therefore, God himself will give you a sign.
Look! A young woman (the virgin) is pregnant. She will have a son.
She will name him Emmanuel."
(Note: "Emmanuel" means "God is with us".)

"Hello friends! 👋 This story is beautiful.
God saw that King Ahaz was scared. God wanted to say: 'Don't worry, I am here!'
God told him: 'Ask me for a sign!'
God loves us so much. He wants us to ask Him for help.
Even though the King said 'No', God gave the best gift anyway.
He gave a baby. This baby is Jesus!
God did not send a soldier or a monster to save the world. He sent a baby.
This teaches us that God's power is different. It is the power of love and being with us.
When you feel alone or scared, remember the name Emmanuel. God is with you right now!"

"Here we go again.
Why is God so difficult?
The King has a war coming! Bad guys with swords are outside the city!
And God says: 'Here is a baby.'
A baby?! 👶
Can a baby fight? Can a baby hold a shield? No! A baby just cries and sleeps.
If I were King Ahaz, I would be mad too. I need an army, not a diaper change!
And look at Ahaz. He said: 'I will not test God.' He was being polite! Why did the prophet yell at him?
God is very pushy. 'Ask for a sign!' 'No.' 'I will give you one anyway!'
It’s like when your grandma gives you a sweater you didn't ask for. You just have to say 'thanks' and suffer."
😇 DerDer (Correcting him)
"BadDer, you don't get it! 😠
King Ahaz was fake polite. In his heart, he had a secret plan to pay another country to fight for him. He didn't want to owe God anything.
God gave a baby because hope is stronger than swords.
The baby shows that God's plan is for the future, not just for today.
Young people, don't be fake like Ahaz. Be honest with God!"
